The Process

From First Call to Final Reveal

Here's exactly what working with Reid Design looks like — no surprises, no stress.

In-Home Consultation

Every project starts with a quick intro conversation by phone or message, no charge and no pressure, to make sure we're a good fit. Once we are, we book the in-home visit.

The consultation itself is 60 to 90 minutes in your space. I take measurements, photos, and a lot of notes. We walk through the rooms together and talk about what's working, what isn't, and what you've always wished the space could feel like.

This is where I get to know how you actually live, not just what you think you're supposed to say to a designer. The more honest you are, the better the result.

Design Plan Created

I go to work. You get a full design plan: a mood board that captures the direction, a layout showing how the room comes together, color and finish guidance, and a curated product selection with everything from sofas to throw pillows. Every piece is chosen for a reason.

We meet to walk through the plan together. You see everything before a single item is purchased. If something isn't right, we revise, one full revision round is included.

Shopping + Selections

Once you approve the plan, the sourcing happens. With Full Room Design, you get a curated shopping list with direct links and shop at your own pace. With Full Room Design + Styling, I take it from there, place orders, track shipments, and coordinate vendors.

Either way, you get access to my trade-only vendor relationships, lines and pricing not available in retail stores, which often offsets a meaningful chunk of the design fee.

Styling + Final Reveal

Everything arrives, gets placed, styled, and accessorized, down to the last throw pillow and stack of books. I'm there for installation day to make sure every piece ends up exactly right. Then I step back, you walk in, and this is the part I love most.

This step is included with Full Room Design + Styling. With the plan-only tier, you handle the installation at your own pace using the design plan as your guide.

Common Questions

Things People Ask Before We Start

It depends on the scope. The in-home consultation is $150 for a 60 to 90 minute visit. Full Room Design starts at $650. Full Room Design + Styling starts at $850. Hourly Shopping & Sourcing is $75 per hour. I'm always happy to talk budget on our intro chat, there's usually a starting point that works.

Reach out through the contact form or message me on Instagram. We'll trade a few notes about your space, your timeline, and what you're hoping to change, then book the in-home consultation. The first conversation is free and there's no commitment.

Not at all. I love working with pieces you already own, a room that incorporates meaningful things feels more personal than one that's entirely new. We'll identify what's worth keeping, what can be repurposed, and what genuinely needs to go.

Yes. I serve Plainfield, Indianapolis, and surrounding communities including Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Zionsville, and Noblesville. Homes within about 30 minutes have no travel fee. Further out, a small travel fee covers the drive time and is always quoted upfront. Virtual design is available for clients outside the area.

The consultation is a single 60 to 90 minute visit. The design plan typically takes 2 to 3 weeks to build after the consultation. From there, shopping and styling timing depends on the scope and on furniture lead times, anywhere from a few weeks for in-stock items to several months for custom pieces. I'll always give you a realistic estimate, not a best-case scenario.

Every package includes one full revision round. The thorough consultation up front means major revisions are rare, but the protection is always there. Nothing gets ordered until you give explicit approval.

I have accounts with vendors not open to the public. These lines offer more distinctive pieces, and my trade pricing is passed along to you, frequently offsetting a portion of the design fee.

My primary focus is residential, but I'm open to small commercial spaces, boutiques, offices, short-term rentals. Reach out and describe your project.
